Delete the first task you do every morning
Every morning for 10 years I clocked in to the same time tracking app.
12 clicks every time I switched tasks. Some days I'd forget and reconstruct yesterday from memory. Some months I'd get overwhelmed and have to backfill several weeks. It was the thing I resented most, so I decided today was the last time.
I pointed Opus 4.7 at the closed source app, and after some steering it had the API mapped. Now an agent drafts my time entries using context it already has from my company's chat, meeting notes, and code. I encoded some company guidelines and it follows them better than I do.
The same data also tells me how many banked hours I have. It surfaced 40 hours, a week off I would never have counted.
Pick the first task you do every morning and delete it.
